Masters of Abstraction - Gala Dinner and Scientific Forum (17-18 January 2019)

The Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation, in cooperation with the Innovative Business Foundation, launched a two-day event the “Masters of Abstraction” in Hong Kong on 17 and 18 January 2019. PICO was the honorary supporting organisation of the event.

The Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation is a renowned institution responsible for organising the Heidelberg Laureate Forum, which is an annual scientific dialogue between winners of the most prestigious awards in mathematics (i.e. Fields Medal, Nevanlinna Prize and Abel Prize) and computer science (i.e. ACM A.M. Turing Award and ACM Prize in Computing) and young researchers around the world. The “Masters of Abstraction” event, comprising a Gala Dinner and a scientific forum, was the first time for the Foundation to hold similar scientific events outside of Europe. The event had brought five distinguished international Laureates in the fields of mathematics and computer science to Hong Kong.
