Assessments are conducted by an Assessment Panel which comprises experienced academics. The Panel will determine the assessment criteria and details of the two funding schemes. Applications will be assessed by the Panel as well as local and/or non-local reviewers, who are experienced academics and experts outside the Panel. To ensure policy relevance of the research proposals, suggestions and views of relevant Government bureaux/departments will also be sought for reference by the Panel. A declaration of interest system is in place to ensure the assessments are fair and impartial.
Assessment Criteria
Research quality and the relevance of the proposal to the public policy and needs of Hong Kong are the principal criteria in assessing research proposals. Please refer to Section 3.3 of the Guidance Notes for detailed assessment criteria.
